Sri Lanka gains victory against West Indies by 20 runs, Australia beats Bangladesh by 8 wickets

Guwahati News Desk: In Thursday’s T20 World Cup match between Sri Lanka and West Indies, Sri Lanka won the match by 20 runs.

The match took place at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabib on Thursday.

Defending the target of 190, Sri Lanka restricted the opponent team to 169/8 with a superb bowling show by Wanindu Hasaranga (2/19) and Binura Fernando (2/24).

In addition, Charith Asalanka top-scored with his 68 runs. He added 91 runs for the second wicket with opener Pathum Nissanka (51) who smashed his second fifty of the ongoing T20 World Cup.

On the other hand, it was Shimron Hetmyer, who top-scored for West Indies with his unbeaten 81-run knock, followed by Nicholas Pooran (46).

Moreover, with this loss, West Indies have now been knocked out of the tournament.

The players of team West Indies included of Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Roston Chase, Nicholas Pooran(w), Kieron Pollard(c), Shimron Hetmyer, Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein and Ravi Rampaul.

The players of team Sri Lanka included of Pethum Nissanka, Kusal Perera(w), Charith Asalanka, Avishka Fernando, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dasun Shanaka(c), Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, Dushmantha Chameera, Maheesh Theekshana and Binura Fernando.

Eventually, the final score of the match between Sri Lanka and West Indies mounted up to Sri Lanka’s being 189/3 (20.0) and West Indies’s being 169/8 (20.0).

Regarding the match between Australia and Bangladesh, team Australia defeated Bangladesh by a total of 8 wickets.

The match took place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Thursday.

In Thursday’s match David Warner contributed at the top of the innings before Mitch Marsh finished the game with a six.

The Australian skipper Aaron Finch blasted 40 runs off 20 balls and played a key role in chasing down the 74-run target with eight wickets and 82 balls remaining.

On the other hand, Bangladesh ended their innings at 73 all-out in 15 overs.

The players of team Australia included of David Warner, Aaron Finch (c), Glenn Maxwell, Steven Smith, Marcus Stoinis, Mitchel Marsh, Matthew Wade (wk), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa and Josh Hazlewood.

The players of team Bangladesh included of Mohammad Naim, Liton Das (wk), Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah (c), Afif Hossain, Shamim Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam.

Eventually, the final score of the match between Australia and Bangladesh mounted up to Australia ‘s being 78/2 (6.2) and Bangladesh ‘s being 73/10 (15.0).

Furthermore, it was Adam Zampa who was titled as the “Player of the Match”.
