Guwahati News Desk: Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) is going to have the largest cancer hospital in east India, announced the Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The announcement was made in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the Srimanta Shankardev Kalashetra on Sunday.
CM Sarma also announced that by this year, four new cancer institutes foundation stones will be laid where the cancer hospital of GMCH will be the largest among all over East India.
During the announcement, CM Sarma thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi as it was impossible without his blessings.
According to the sources, a total of 23 medical colleges construction are going on at present in Asam.
CM Sarma also stated that it will put all efforts to make Assam one of the strongest in India.
