Guwahati News Desk: Three persons were arrested for killing a hog deer at Goriakhona under Dhemaji Forest Division on Saturday.
The arrested persons are the residents of Pitu Chapori of Goraikhona who killed and ate the meat, they were arrested last night at around 1:30 am.
A case has seen registered against the accused under relevant Sections of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.
According to the sources, the accused were produced in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Dhemaji and remanded to judicial custody.
The police officials have started further investigation for apprehending 16 more persons who were found involved in the killing of the hog deer.
